Junior Orange Bowl Photography Competition
The Junior Orange Bowl Photography Competition is celebrating another year of giving young talented photographers a chance to shine and share their artwork with the community.
Open to middle school and high school student in South Florida, we will begin accepting submissions on Monday, January 13th.
This year we will have 6 different submission categories:
Animals
Art & Music
Black & White
Night
Patterns In The World
Portraits
If selected as a finalist, you and your teachers will be notified via email. We will be hosting the Junior Orange Bowl Photography Competition Awards Ceremony at the City of Doral Cultural Arts Center on a date to be announced.
Please see below for the guidelines and criteria that the judges will be using for each category:
Animals
We are proud to partner with Zoo Miami this year to bring you our previously known animal theme revamped. Judges are looking for depth this year in the animal photos. The goal is to show animals in their natural habitats as well as all the amazing conservation efforts Zoo Miami has had in protecting species both thriving and on the verge of extinction.
Art & Music
Show us what you believe Art & Music illustrates for you today. Judges will be looking for storylines, depth, and most of all what makes you (or your subject) unique.
Black and White
The submission must show off their best work in black and white. Judges are looking for depth, technique and storytelling in the photos.
Night
Judges would like to see how far you can push your limits and your camera. Show how you capture the night sky, the darkness and how to find the light. Judges are looking for technique and storytelling.
Patterns in The World
These photos should show how you view the patterns in your everyday life from buildings, to staircases, to the not so obvious patterns the judges may have missed. You should look out for depth, an ongoing pattern as well as the not so subtle yet artistic patterns. Color is no issue in this category nor is black and white. You should mainly focus on how the students have captured the pattern and how outside the box they went.
Portraits
Judges would like to see how technically advanced you can be. Show your best portraits with family, friends, models and everything in between. The judges love for you to tell a story with your images and show how you can push yourself to put forth your very best.
